"There is no role for a group like ISIS:" UWM political expert says Foley execution is a wake-up call

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A political science professor tells FOX6 News that the beheading of James Foley, a graduate of Marquette University, will likely be a wake-up call for many who believe Iraq was on the path to peace.

UW-Milwaukee political expert Douglas Savage explains...

"It's a process, frankly, that we've ignored at our own peril," said Savage.

ISIS has continued to grow in the aftermath of the American military departure from Iraq.

"The solution really has to be on the political front.  That we can create a little breathing room and space with the air strikes that have occurred," said Savage.
