"This is a tradition:" Governor Walker, DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp kick off gun deer season
MADISON (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker and Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp released have released a video message -- kicking off the 2014, nine-day gun deer season in Wisconsin.
“Wisconsin’s gun deer season attracts hunters from all over the country and the world. This is a tradition that builds relationships, and helps grow our economy, while managing our deer herd. There really is nothing quite like it," Governor Walker said.
“Hunters throughout Wisconsin have so much passion for the sport, and they’ve really made safety a top priority. After all, a safe hunt is a successful hunt!" DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp said.
