Three safely evacuated from home after fire breaks out Monday
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Fire officials say crews battled a blaze Monday evening, November 11th at a home on N. 37th Street.
It started around 6:00 p.m. at a 2.5-story home near 37th and Lloyd.
Fire crews say the fire began in the rear walls of the home -- forcing three inside to evacuate.
No one was injured.
Fire officials say the home did not have any working smoke detectors inside at the time of the fire.
There is an estimated $15,000 in damage to the home, and another $2,000 in damage to the contents inside.
The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting those who live inside the home.
