Three squad cars damaged, two in custody following pursuit that ended in Germantown

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say three squad cars were damaged during a pursuit as law enforcement officials looked to arrest an individual wanted on a felony warrant for theft and eluding officers Wednesday afternoon, February 11th.

The State Patrol requested Waukesha County Sheriff's officials pick up the individual on the warrant. Law enforcement officials had information that the individual was at Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls with a juvenile female that had been reported missing.

When the individual saw Sheriff's deputies, he fled.

Deputies deployed stop sticks, which the man drove over -- heading north from the park. He continued north to County Line Road, where he headed east -- eventually turning into the We Energies plant on the north side of County Line Road in Germantown.

While on the We Energies property, Waukesha County Sheriff's officials tell FOX6 News he struck a guard rail and a snow bank and the pursuit came to an end.

During the pursuit, the man was driving erratically -- driving into oncoming traffic.

"He hit some of the stop sticks which deflated some of his tires, but he continued to drive on. At one point, he drove eastbound in the westbound lanes, which posed a significant traffic risk,"

Two Waukesha County Sheriff's squads were damaged -- one during a PIT maneuver which was attempted to get the driver to stop. Another was damaged by the driver when he rammed the squad at the beginning of the incident.

A Germantown Police Department squad car was damaged at the end of the pursuit.

Two people were taken into custody at the conclusion of the pursuit -- the man with the warrant and the juvenile female. We're told she was not held against her will -- but rather, that she knows the man.

The damage to the three squad cars is described as minimal, and no one was injured.
