For 53 years, Tosa Greek Fest has brought Greek culture to southeastern Wisconsin.
WAUWATOSA - Wauwatosa's Greek Fest returned June 9-11.
For 53 years, Tosa Greek Fest has brought Greek culture to southeastern Wisconsin. Siblings Koko and Dionysis Tsioutsiopoulos have grown up dancing at the festival.
"After months and months of planning, we get a beautiful event like this," said Dionysis Tsioutsiopoulos. "Like, you all come together, and it’s just like, you’ve been together all along, and you are going to dance and enjoy everything."
The church's event helps the Sts Constantine & Helen Greek Church congregation continue its service.
"We use it for important things like repairs. Like, couple years ago, we got a whole new roof for the church and everything," said Dionysis Tsioutsiopoulos.

Tosa Greek Fest: Famous chicken

About 20 volunteers work from Thursday to Sunday to prepare 3,000 pieces of chicken for the festival.
"I won't see some guys for a whole year, and then I pull up here, and I see them working in the chicken broth," said Dionysis Tsioutsiopoulos. "Everybody that you grew up with going to church and everything, they just come here."
They work together to share their heritage.
"It’s a whole community. People just immerse themselves in the culture," said Dionysis Tsioutsiopoulos. "Something you don’t see often, and it’s very cool."
Nearly 500 people attended the festival over the weekend.
