"Touchdowns for Charity" campaign generates $52,000 for Hunger Task Force
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A special Green Bay Packers tailgate was held in Milwaukee on Tuesday, December 16th -- at Hunger Task Force.
Sargento Cheese presented officials with Hunger Task Force with a check for $52,000. It's part of the company's "Touchdowns for Charity" campaign. Sargento makes a donation for every touchdown the Packers score this season.
"We're doing volunteer recognition. So many of the people in the crowd today are the volunteers that do direct service at our food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Saz's has put on a huge spread for them, but it's a celebration for them and a recognition of all the work they do year round," said Sherrie Tussler of Hunger Task Force.
Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was on hand to talk to volunteers. He also signed autographs.
