Town of West Bend home severely damaged by fire early Sunday
WEST BEND (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials and eight fire departments were called out to a house fire in West Bend early Sunday morning, September 7th.
The fire was called in by several neighbors, as well as the homeowner, who had just returned home -- shortly before 5:00 a.m. Sunday.
Sheriff's officials say the first deputy to arrive at the scene on Peninsula Drive in the Town of West Bend saw flames coming from the first and second floors of the home.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
Sheriff's officials say the blaze was quickly contained by firefighters. The house suffered severe damage, but isn't a total loss.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office was joined at the scene by fire departments from Slinger, Allenton, Hartford, Jackson, Kewaskum, St. Lawrence, and West Bend. An ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
