Traffic alert: DPW plans traffic light outages on Milwaukee's west side Sunday, April 17th

MILWAUKEE -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) announced several traffic signals will be shut down temporarily due to We Energies work Sunday morning, April 17th on the city's west side.

According to the DPW, the lights will be down as part of a scheduled We Energies substation shutdown.

The traffic signals at the following west side intersections will not be functioning on Sunday, April 17th from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.:


    According to a DPW press release, beginning at 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning, DPW crews will switch the traffic signals to a four-way red flash. During this time period, crews will post four-way STOP signs at each intersection.

    Power then will be turned off to the signals and We Energies work will commence.
