Traffic on I-43 backed up for miles over sewer grate issue

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Traffic on I-43 south near National Ave. was restricted to one lane for several hours on Friday afternoon, May 31st.

A broken sewer grate caused backups for over three miles during rush hour.

The MIlwaukee County Sheriff's Office says all lanes of I-43 have reopened and traffic flow has returned to normal.
