WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a collision between a train and a FedEx truck in Wauwatosa on Monday, April 24.
The collision happened just before 10 a.m. Monday on Walnut Road just west of Highway 100. Officials say the truck was crossing the tracks westbound into the Department of Public Works lot – when it was struck by the train heading southbound.
"It's the only thing I've heard or seen is in, yeah, the movies," said Chase Parker who works nearby.

But this was the real deal. Packages, debris, and a FedEx truck were scattered along the railroad tracks.
"I think that’s the most shocking part is that there was a truck on the tracks when the train was coming," said Tiana Willis of Wauwatosa.

Police say it is a private crossing that allows access to Wauwatosa's DPW parking lot. There is a stop sign and a railroad crossing warning sign, but no arms or lights at the crossing.

"I’m glad everybody was OK, but also, that is a lot of product. I don’t know how that’s going to effect everything," Willis said.
