MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 19-year-old Marcus Smith-Reaves and 20-year-old Julian Woodruff, the two men facing multiple charges in connection with soliciting and trafficking a child for prostitution, are due in court Thursday, March 28th for their arraignments.
Smith-Reaves and Woodruff are accused of harboring a 17-year-old girl and providing, or attempted to provide her to others for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts for their financial benefit.
The criminal complaint indicates that Smith-Reaves picked the victim up from a friend’s house February 17th and took her to a residence on N. 34th Street. The following day, Smith-Reaves allegedly told the victim she was to engage in acts of prostitution in exchange for money.
According to the criminal complaint, Smith-Reaves threatened the victim with a gun and told her she had to “remain in the residence.” The criminal complaint indicates Smith-Reaves threatened to kill the victim if she did not engage in acts of prostitution.
Between the dates of February 17th and February 26th the criminal complaint indicates that both Smith-Reaves and Woodruff engaged in sexual acts with the victim, drove her to two different prostitution dates in the City of Milwaukee and threatened to drown her in a tub when they thought she called police.
“He’s not guilty for whatever these claims and these charges are,” said the older brother of Smith-Reaves. “There’s other evidence to his side and there’s two sides of the story.”
