MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee 7 economic development collaboration announced on Thursday, February 7th that two Illinois companies have relocated to the Milwaukee area. They are Noark Electric, a manufacturer of electrical components, and Fire Safety Sales, a maker and distributor of fire suppression devices.
Noark Electric is headquartered in China with significant operations in Europe. The company has moved its U.S. operation from Rockford, IL to Oak Creek, WI. Noark expects to have 19 technical and administrative positions in Oak Creek by 2015.
Fire Safety relocated from Bloomington, IL to the City of Milwaukee. New jobs will include 18 headquarters, sales and support staff. In addition to receiving a $1.2 million line of credit from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp., the firm expects to receive investment via the federal EB‐5 program.
The Milwaukee 7 Economic Development Collaboration is a partnership between the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, the City of Milwaukee and the seven counties of Southeast Wisconsin: Kenosha, Milwaukee Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties. Its mission is to unite the counties around a regional agenda to grow, expand and attract businesses and talent.
