Two injured in pickup vs. SUV crash in Racine
RACINE -- Racine police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 2200 block of Mt. Pleasant Street on Wednesday, June 6th just after 3:00 p.m.
Police say a pickup truck and an SUV were involved in the crash.
78-year-old Manuel Bento of Willow City, Texas, a passenger in the SUV, was trapped and had to be freed by Racine Fire officials.
The 53-year-old driver of the SUV, Leilani Bento of Willow City, Texas and Manuel Bento were both taken to Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital for treatment.
Manuel Bento was later transferred to Froedtert Hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 53-year-old Glen Ross of Kenosha.
Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was turning when the crash occurred.
There were no signs of impairment by any individuals involved, and speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Racine police say the investigation into this crash is ongoing, and no charges or citations have been issued at this time.
