Two lanes shut down on Hoan Bridge after tarps on bridge were dislodged by wind
MILWAUKEE -- Two lanes on I-794 SB at the Hoan Bridge's arches were shut down for a period of time on Monday, June 22nd after tarps on the bridge were dislodged by the wind.
Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say shortly before 3:00 p.m., some of the tarps that hang underneath the Hoan Bridge were dislodged, and ended up blowing up onto the bridge deck and onto the roadway.
The tarps ended up blocking a couple lanes of traffic.
No crashes occurred, and no one was injured.
Two lanes were shut down for about two-and-a-half hours as crews worked to re-secure the tarps.
By 6:30 p.m., the lanes reopened to traffic.
We're told those tarps hang underneath the Hoan Bridge to catch any debris that may fall while crews are doing construction work to the bridge.
