Two people struck, one hurt by lightning in Dodge County
DODGE CO. (WITI) -- Dodge County authorities say two people were struck by lightning in the community of Brownsville on Monday afternoon, April 9th.
The two people were struck at a quarry owned by Halquist Stone Company around 1:30 p.m. in Brownsville.
One man was transported to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for injuries from the lightning strike. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
"It started raining harder and then lightning and thunder. We saw a really bad flash of lightning, 'cause I even said to my husband 'oh my gosh, that was lightning and it was sharp.' That might've been when it happened," said June Erickson, neighbor.
A second man, who was inside a piece of machinery at the time of the lightning strike, did not sustain any injuries.
