Two people taken to the hospital with serious injuries following crash on U.S. 41 SB

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a crash on U.S. 41 near the State Highway 49 overpass in the Town of Lomira Sunday, March 29th.

Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a preliminary investigation shows a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Kenosha woman was headed northbound on U.S. 41 when it lost control -- entering the median. The vehicle rolled multiple times and came to rest on its passenger side. It continued to slide into the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 -- and it was then struck by a Freightliner truck.

The Kenosha woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Her 50-year-old passenger -- a man from Waukesha was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Freightliner truck wasn't injured.

U.S. 41 southbound was closed for approximately three hours as this crash was investigated.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
