Two Racine men arrested following pursuit, crash
RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police say two Racine men were arrested following a pursuit on Thursday, December 12th.
Police say officers initiated a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Mound Avenue due to the odor of THC emitting from the vehicle and traffic violations observed by the officers.
Police say the suspect vehicle initially pulled over, but as officers approached on foot, the vehicle fled.
Officers then initiated a vehicle pursuit lasting a few blocks, which was later terminated.
Police say the offending vehicle continued through the neighborhood after officers stopped pursuing.
A short time later, officers discovered a three-vehicle crash on Kinzie near Graham.
Officers learned the suspect vehicle fled through the neighborhood and returned to Kinzie Avenue, where it headed westbound, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle being operated by a 48-year-old Racine woman.
Police say the suspect vehicle then struck a tree.
The vehicle struck by the suspect vehicle struck another vehicle, operated by a 22-year-old Racine woman.
Both suspects exited the offending vehicle, and police say the passenger, 24-year-old Thadeus Reed of Racine fled on foot and was captured in a nearby home.
Police say the driver, 20-year-old Alberto Galvan attempted to flee the scene by stealing the 22-year-old victim's vehicle, but was taken into custody by police.
The 48-year-old woman received life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital and later flown to Froedtert.
Galvan and Reed were seriously injured. Both were taken to the hospital.
