Two Sikh Temple priests in critical condition at Froedtert

OAK CREEK -- Oak Creek police responded to shots fired at Oak Creek's Sikh Temple and encountered 40-year-old Wade Michael Page. Page killed six and critically wounded three, before police took him down outside the temple.

The investigation thus far has uncovered Page had deep roots in the white supremacy movement -- linked to a band with hate lyrics and pictured in front of a swastika.

Baba Punjab Singh

Temple member Kirandeep Cheema says Baba (priest) Punjab Singh is one of three in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital. He's a visiting religious leader from India, who would spend blocks of time in the U.S.

"I love him so much and when I heard I couldn't take it so I just started crying. I see him as a father -- no different," Cheema said.

Cheema says in India, Singh would help set up schools for poor, orphaned children.

"He's doing it purely from his heart. I pray for him," Cheema sad.

A second temple priest, Baba Santokh Singh is also at Froedtert Hospital -- also in critical condition.
