Two victims, two suspects, two crimes: Marquette students robbed
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Two victims, two suspects and two crimes -- separated by just minutes. Police are looking for two men who robbed two students on the Marquette University campus.
It happened near 19th and Wisconsin on late Wednesday night, April 23rd.
Police believe the suspects were bold enough to strike not once, but twice in a five-minute time frame.
"It seems kinda odd that two people would do the same thing twice. I guess if you are going to do your crimes it would be best to do them right away and not space them out," a Marquette student told FOX6 News.
Around 11:30 p.m., police say two men robbed a 19-year-old MU student near 19th and Wisconsin. A short time later, two similar-looking men were reported robbing a 21-year-old student near 20th and Wisconsin.
In the second case, police say one of the suspects showed a handgun.
Police believe it is because the victims cooperated with the suspects that no one was hurt.
Marquette University sent out campus alerts within about 15 minutes of the initial crime, but by that time, a second robbery may have already finished.
Marquette students FOX6 News spoke with say they feel pretty safe on campus.
"The campus security and the Milwaukee police are really tying to keep it safe,"
"I've been on this campus for four years and I'll be here another four years and I haven't had anything happen to me,"
Students tell FOX6 News they hope the suspects responsible are soon taken into custody.
