MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee firefighters on Tuesday night, July 1st battled a fire that broke out at a home on Appleton Avenue in Milwaukee.
The fire broke out just before 8:30 p.m.
Fire officials say the fire broke out in a back bedroom of a single-family ranch-style home.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
At least two adults lived in the home.
Fire officials say the home is uninhabitable. The fire did an estimated $75,000 in damage to the home and $25,000 in damage to its contents.
The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
