Vehicle hits two bicyclists, 9-year-old girl severely injured

NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- A 9-year-old girl is in critical, but stable condition after being hit by a vehicle while riding her bike in New Berlin.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday evening, December 6th.

New Berlin Police and Fire Departments were called to the 20900 block of W. Cleveland Avenue where a vehicle struck two children riding bicycles.

The 9-year-old female was treated at the scene by paramedics and was transported to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. The second bicyclist suffered minor injuries.

This incident is under investigation. The operator of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation -- alcohol is not considered a contributing factor in the accident.
