Volunteers repair homes across the city for the 15th annual 'Rebuilding Day'
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Rebuilding greater Milwaukee together. A handful of volunteers spent Saturday morning fixing up homes across the city.
Workers were on a mission to fix up 20 houses as part of "Rebuilding Day." They restore and repair homes for the elderly, poor and disabled.
Volunteers do everything from painting, to plumbing to floor repairs.
We talked with one worker who said it takes a lot to make this event happen.
"Lots of planning, lots of people involved, organization is key and you've got to get all the volunteers to actually buy-in and be ready to work for the whole day," said Rebuilding Together volunteer, Bruce Elliot.
This was the 15th year of Rebuilding Day. The group replies on donations to help cover the costs of the work.
