Walker among governors meeting with Pres. Obama
MADISON (AP) -- Republican Gov. Scott Walker is among a group of governors who will be meeting next week with President Barack Obama at the White House to discuss the looming so-called ``fiscal cliff.''
Walker announced Friday that he would be among the group meeting with Obama on Tuesday to discuss possible solutions and issues states face.
Walker says the governors invited are those on the National Governors Association executive committee. According to the NGA website, Walker is one of seven governors on the executive committee in addition to NGA Chair Delaware Gov. Jack Markell and Vice Chair Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin.
Obama and House Republicans have been discussing ways to avert tax increases that automatically take effect in January, but no deal has been reached.
