WAUWATOSA -- Supporters of Governor Scott Walker hope to draw more than 1,000 people to Wauwatosa on Saturday for what they call a "Celebrate Walker" rally.

The rally is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hart Park.  Organizers say a dozen Republican lawmakers are scheduled to speak, including Tommy Thompson, Mark Neumann and Jeff Fitzgerald.

"The most important reason for this rally is for our base to get back together and say, ok, this recall looks like it's gonna happen.  So let's get together and let's get the ground troops rolling," said Santo Ingrilli, a rally organizer.

In response to the planned rally, Wisconsin Democratic Spokesman Graeme Zielinski pointed to the 1 million signatures filed in Madison as evidence Walker might not survive a recall.

"I think it's a good time for his supporters to rally around him," said Zielinski.  "He's failing clearly."

Rally organizers say they want to show that Governor Walker still has a lot of supporters in the state.

"We just want to show our support for Governor Walker," said Lisa Weed, a rally organizer.  "I'm just sick of living in a state where there's so much hatred going on right now."
