POLK (WITI) -- A Washington County Sheriff's Department squad car was struck while running radar on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 45 in the town of Polk on Saturday, January 17th.
The squad car was parked along the east shoulder when it was struck by a car traveling northbound.
The northbound car crossed over the fog line colliding with the rear of the squad car.
There were 2 people in the vehicle that struck the squad car and were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and later released with minor injuries.
The deputy was also treated at St. Joseph's Hospital and was released with minor injuries as well.
The crash is still under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
It is believed that alcohol was a contributing factor in this incident.
