Waukesha County police chase; 2 squads collide, 1 arrested

One person was taken into custody following a police chase that began in Jefferson County and ended in Waukesha County on Wednesday night, Dec. 18. 

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, shortly after 10:30 p.m. Jefferson County advised Waukesha County officials of a suspected impaired driver that had fled from squads in Jefferson County. 

A Waukesha County deputy observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, and a pursuit was initiated. 

During the pursuit, a Waukesha County squad struck a Town of Brookfield squad. Both squads had significant damage.

There were no injuries. 

The 25-year-old suspect was taken into custody by the City of Brookfield Police Department.
