Waukesha deputies, Pewaukee police spend time with 4-year-old boy with cancer, who wants to be an officer

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Waukesha County Sheriff's deputies and Pewaukee police officers are praying for a little boy named Eli who is battling cancer.

Officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department on Thursday, September 1st posted photos to Facebook after meeting four-year-old Eli Hansen and his family.

Eli wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Sheriff's officials said Eli is currently fighting for his life -- diagnosed with cancer in April. He has been in and out of the hospital ever since.

On Wednesday, August 31st, Sheriff's officials met Eli and his family. Sheriff's officials said "we wanted to give Eli strength and let him know we were there to help him keep fighting."

Eli was able to tour the Village of Pewaukee Police Department, meet the police chief and all of the officers, check out the police motorcycles, the Sheriff's boat, play with K-9 Justice, test out the lights and sirens -- and, of course, eat a donut!
