Police at Frame Park

It’s the third time since May that there’s been significant police activity near Frame Park.

From the playground, Anne Eick watched as police tapped off parts of Frame Park. Investigators spent hours on Thursday near the Moreland Boulevard bridge on the north side of the river walk.

"Just noticed all the cameras, and the tape and squad cars and just praying it wasn’t a drowning," said Anne Eick.

Investigators pulled a man’s body from the river. It’s still not clear what happened, but police say they found clothes along the river’s edge. They say the man was wearing shorts and had no identification. The Waukesha Police Department on Friday, Sept. 6 identified the deceased as 63-year-old Scott Yehle.

"I was born and raised right here in the 50s and 60s before they renovated the park. I don’t know in all those years anyone ever drowned in the river," said Jim Charles.

Investigation at Frame Park

This comes after two separate stabbing incidents near frame park since May.

The first was on May 3. Police say a man in his 30s was stabbed near the Union Street parking lot.

Last week, investigators say a man stabbed another man in the chest. That happened near Barstow and Bank Street, near the end of the park.

Police previously said both of these crimes involved the homeless community.

"I still feel pretty safe. I mean, it can happen anywhere. You need to have a good head on your shoulders," added Eick.

Investigators say the body found Thursday had no obvious signs of trauma.

They warned that determining the man’s identity and cause of death could take time.

"I never saw anything like this," added Charles.

No word yet on how long it could take to identify the body.

Police say there was no driver's license among the clothes found on the river’s edge.
