Waukesha shooting on Kensington Drive; man discharged firearm, arrested

Waukesha police arrested a man on Sunday evening, Jan. 19 after they said he fired a gun inside an apartment on Kensington Drive.

What we know:

The shooting happened on Kensington Drive near W. St. Paul Avenue in Waukesha around 9 p.m. Sunday.

A 911 caller believed a gun was fired inside an apartment.

Investigating officers were able to learn that all involved parties knew each other. A man shows up to the apartment complex in his vehicle. At some point, there was a conversation/confrontation from a distance and the parties that were in the apartment believed they observed a laser being pointed at them. They believed the laser was attached to a firearm.

A male that was inside the apartment discharged a firearm and one round went off. He was arrested.

Witnesses say another person walked outside as well as the man. Police say everyone involved in the incident knows each other.
