WAUWATOSA -- An investigation is underway after Wauwatosa East High School was vandalized early Tuesday morning, June 2. Doors and windows were broken.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the scene around 3 a.m. following reports of three to four gunshots and yelling. Another caller reported that a male subject had exited a vehicle and smashed out numerous windows with a baseball bat.
Upon arrival, officers located five broken glass windows at the main south entrance to the school, along Milwaukee Avenue. No suspects or related vehicles were located in the area.
A witness told police that a white or silver SUV pulled up to the school and stopped. The driver, and believed to be sole occupant of the vehicle, got out with a baseball bat, ran up to the entrance yelling something, and started swinging the bat, shattering several glass windows.
The suspect then got back into the SUV and fled eastbound on Milwaukee Avenue.
The only description given is the suspect is a younger Hispanic or black male.
