Wauwatosa hit-and-run crash; man accused had infant in SUV: complaint
MILWAUKEE - A 27-year-old Milwaukee man is accused in a hit-and-run crash – and fleeing the scene with an infant in the back seat of the car. The accused is Savon McKenzie-Talley – and he faces the following criminal counts:
- Neglecting a child
- Hit-and-run, attended vehicle

What we know:
According to the criminal complaint, a detective with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office was in the area of Children's Wisconsin in Wauwatosa on Wednesday, Jan. 1 when he spotted a hit-and-run crash at 87th and Watertown Plank Road.
The complaint says a black SUV struck the rear of a white sedan. There were two people in the sedan at the time of the crash. The black SUV immediately drove away from the crash at a high rate of speed, the complaint says.

The detective was able to catch up with the fleeing vehicle and "observed as it ran through multiple red traffic signals at 87th and Watertown Plank Rd, Harwood Avenue and Glenview Avenue, and 76th and Milwaukee Avenue."
A traffic stop was initiated -- and the detective identified the driver as the defendant. In the back seat of the SUV was a nine-month-old child. The complaint says the defendant was "determined to not have a valid driver's license or insurance."
McKenzie-Talley made his initial appearance in Milwaukee County court on Sunday, Jan. 5. Cash bond was set at $2,500.
