MILWAUKEE -- It's been one week since the tragic Orlando mass shooting. Saturday, June 18th Milwaukee came together to pay tribute to the 49 people killed in the attack.

More than 100 people gathered for a bilingual vigil to remember the victims.

Though the tragedy happened more than a thousand miles away, it hits close to home. The message, "Somos Orlando" -- We Are Orlando.

At Paliafito Park, prayers resound as a community gathers to reflect.

"It's been horrible, just watching all the news coverage. It's so sad," said Kevin Meehan, participant.

It's been nearly one week since a gunman took 49 lives at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. In Milwaukee, more than 100 people show solidarity by standing together through words and prayers.

"It's our community we have to support each other," said Meehan.

"An attack on any LGBT community, whether it's in Florida or Wisconsin, is an attack on all LGBT communities," said State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa.

The names of the 49 victims are read one by one, as candles are lit. Show in a time of darkness, light and love will win.
