MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee mother is going door-to-door in an effort to find the person(s) responsible for killing her daughter. She hopes a new incentive will lead to justice.

Dricka Hodges
It has been nearly one year since Fredricka Hodges was shot and killed near 24th and Center on April 7th, 2014, and no one is in custody. With no answers, Hodges' family is trying something new.
"We just need some answers," Dricka's mother, Lurlean Hodges-Hinton said.
Hodges-Hinton is going door-to-door, handing out flyers near where Hodges was shot and killed.
"To be a mother and not know who took my child's life, that's the worst kind of pain you can live with," Hodges-Hinton said.
On April 7th, 29-year-old Dricka Hodges was on her way to see her dying father at the hospital when she was shot as she was sitting in her car. Police initially charged a 20-year-old man in connection with her death, but those charges were dropped.
"This is just the beginning. If we have to knock on every door in Milwaukee and hand out a flyer we're gonna do it. Just to have a little bit of solace would be wonderful," Hodges-Hinton said.
Dricka's family is committed to raising $5,000 to be offered as a reward for information on who shot the young mother of two.
"Unfortunately it seems money is a bigger incentive than integrity," Hodges-Hinton said.
Two dozen of Hodges' closest friends and family members are targeting the immediate blocks surrounding 24th and Center.
"I mean, if we gotta stand up and put a reward out there then that's what we're gonna do," Willie Hinton said.
Hodges' mother says she wants more than charges and a conviction. SHe wants peace of mind for herself and for Hodges' young daughters.
"It'll never bring her back but at least I'll know. If there is someone out there who knows anything, please, please come forward. Please come forward. I beg of you," Hodges-Hinton said.
