MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers ended their season on Sunday, October 4th -- losing to the rival Chicago Cubs at Miller Park. For Brewers fans, this disappointing season is leading to a renewed hope for the future, as the team rebuilds.
Brewers vs. Cubs at Miller Park
It was a sea of blue at Miller Park on Sunday afternoon, as Cubs fans and Brewers fans sat side-by-side.
While it was a great year for the Cubs, some didn't want to gloat on Sunday.
"I have no ill will towards Brewers fans. I just came up to see the Cubs in just a magical season," Dan Stearns said.
It wasn't such a magical season for the Brewers. The rebuilding Brewers finished with 94 losses -- 14 more than in 2014. The team has a new general manager and a new manager.
Craig Counsell
The Brewers on May 4th named Craig Counsell the 19th manager in franchise history, signing him to a three-year contract through the 2017 season.
The Brewers on September 21st named David Stearns as the organization’s general manager.
"They got the young players for next year and that's what I'm looking forward to. As far as next year -- the pitching. We need the pitching," a Brewers fan said.

The last game of the season for the Brewers was Rodney Jones' first game of the season.
"I wanted to go to a game sooner -- but this is my first game this year. I grew up in Illinois -- can't stand the Cubs!" Jones said.
In the crowd at Miller Park on Sunday afternoon was one fan celebrating her 93rd birthday!

Additionally, a mother sent FOX6 News a photo of her children raising money for a woman injured by a foul ball earlier this season.

"We'll always hate Chicago. It doesn't matter. We love the Brewers. Always love Milwaukee," Amber Nass said.
As the Brewers packed up in the locker room following their 3-1 loss to the Cubs, in the stands came some advice from a Cubs fan for Brewers fans:
"I say 'don't give up the hope,' because we've been waiting a long time and I know what it's like to go through a losing season," the Cubs fans said.
Despite all the change this season, the opportunity to rebuild, and of course, the disappointments, Brewers fans say they're happy to stay loyal throughout the cold winter until next season.
