MILWAUKEE -- A man was found dead near the alley of the El Rey grocery store near Cesar Chavez and Mineral Friday morning, Aug. 16. A security guard said a customer found the man's body in a bush and called police.

"It's a weird situation," said Guillermo Diaz, security guard.

Guillermo Diaz says the man who died was a regular customer.

"He was in and out," Diaz said. "Nothing too big with groceries just some hot food here and there."

Authorities spent hours gathering evidence Friday; investigators took photos at the scene. An officer went door to door, talking with anyone who may have seen or heard something.

"I walked by there and didn't see anything," said Eduardo Barraza, lives nearby. "To come back home to end up someone telling me there is a dead body there is like surprising."

The incident left questions and heavy hearts.

"Sorry for the family and for the loss," said Diaz.

Police say there is nothing suspicious at this time. If you have information about the death, you're asked to call Milwaukee police.
