NEW YORK — Emmy Award-winning hair stylist Antwon Jackson has died suddenly at the age of 44, according to television host Wendy Williams and Crystal Wright, a longtime friend.
Jackson, who lived in New York City, worked as Williams' "wig-ologist" and frequently appeared on her after-show on YouTube.
Williams took to social media Tuesday to mourn Jackson.
The details of his death were not immediately clear.
Wright told NJ.com that Jackson had recently returned from Mexico, where he was vacationing with his fiance, Dontay Savoy.
Jackson won a Daytime Emmy in 2011 for outstanding achievement in hairstyling. He was nominated again in 2012.
He leaves behind a 25-year-old son, DeAntwon Jackson.
