West Allis police chase; 2 Milwaukee men arrested

Two 34-year-old Milwaukee men have been arrested following a pursuit that began in West Allis over the weekend.

The West Allis Police Department said it happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. A West Allis officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation and the registered owner of the vehicle was a suspect in a pursuit earlier in the month.  

This suspect vehicle stopped near 99th and Lincoln with two occupants in the car. Officers detected the odor of marijuana and alcohol. When officers asked the occupants of the vehicle to exit the car, they refused and fled.

A stop stick was successfully deployed and both rear tires deflated. The vehicle spun out on the freeway and the driver regained control and continued to flee.

Police said a PIT maneuver was successful, and the vehicle pursuit ended on I-894 between Lincoln and Greenfield Ave.

The driver of the vehicle ran from the car and was tased and arrested. The passenger of the vehicle was also arrested.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for eluding an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and felony in possession of a firearm.

The passenger was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and a probation violation.  

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review the incident in the coming days.
