West Allis pursuit ends in Wauwatosa crash; 1 injured, police investigating

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - A person was taken to the hospital after a police pursuit ended in a crash in Wauwatosa on Tuesday night, Jan. 21.
What we know:
According to police, West Allis officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on 84th Street around 8:30 p.m. The driver did not stop and a pursuit ensued. West Allis officers pursued the vehicle into Wauwatosa.
The pursuit ended when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a residence in the area of 74th and Lloyd in Wauwatosa.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There were no other reported injuries.

The driver is in custody for fleeing an officer, operating without the owner’s consent and a warrant.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has responded to the crash location to conduct the crash investigation.
