West Bend police arrest three 17-year-old's accused of multiple thefts, firing gunshots into home

WEST BEND -- Three 17-year-old boys were taken into custody after authorities determined their connection to vehicle and firearm thefts, as well as firing gunshots into the side of a residence.

According to police, a citizen on Lily Avenue first reported gunshots fired into a residence located Lily Avenue on July 11th. The shots were believed to have occurred during the night when the home was occupied. At least one of the gunshots caused damage to the bedroom the family's young children were sleeping in.

During this same time period, the West Bend Police Department were investigating numerous thefts from vehicles in the same area, including three separate firearms stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Wednesday, September 9th, one of the stolen firearms was recovered after a citizen in the Town of Trenton reported finding an unknown firearm in their residence. A 17-year-old boy living at the residence was taken into custody by the Trenton Police Department and turned over to West Bend authorities for questioning.

Thursday, September 10th, the West Bend Police Department took two additional 17-year-old boys from West Bend into custody based on information gathered during the ongoing investigation.

Police say after an extensive investigation, all three suspects were arrested for the shooting on Lily Avenue and the thefts from vehicles occurring in the neighborhood.

The three firearms were recovered along with several of the items stolen from the vehicles in the area.

All three 17-year-old boys have been placed in the Washington County Jail on charges of recklessly endangering safety, theft, and criminal damage to property.
