Wind, drifting snow cause concern in Ozaukee County
OZAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- In Ozaukee County on Tuesday, February 26th, it was the wind and the drifting snow causing the most concern -- as the snow continued to fall into Tuesday night.
Ozaukee County Sheriff's officials said deputies were out responding to reports of cars in ditches -- though they were too busy to provide FOX6 News with specific numbers.
In Saukville, FOX6's news crew found plenty of plow drivers at work in store parking lots, with some returning to clear away snow for the second time Tuesday. One driver said he planned for a third round of plowing overnight Tuesday.
Some were out scraping away the heavy, wet snow from their cars and getting soaked themselves in the process.
On city streets in Ozaukee County, many drivers traveled as slow as 10 to 20 miles-per-hour. On the interstate, it was a different story.
"It’s mix bag you got some people trying to do 65-70 in their trucks with four-wheel drive, other people doing 25-30," Todd Uebersetzig said.
