WIND LAKE, Wis. - The Norway Fire Department said three men were rescued after their UTV fell through the ice on Wind Lake on Saturday evening, Jan. 25.
What we know:
According to the Norway Fire Department, crews were called out on Saturday evening to the northeast side of Wind Lake for a call that a UTV had gone through the ice. 3 men were in the UTV at the time.
When first responders arrived, the men were found standing on top of their partially submerged UT roughly 2,100 feet from shore in water 10 to 15 feet deep. A Rapid Deployment Craft (RDC) was used to bring all three men to land safely.
One of the three men was taken to the hospital, while the other two were picked up by family.

Officials are urging caution for anyone heading onto the ice, especially at night. People should go slow and bring more than one phone in case of emergency. In this case, the men only had one phone, which was dropped into the water shortly after calling 911.
The Norway Fire Department said the northeast quadrant of Wind Lake is known for dangerous ice conditions caused by natural springs. Officials say this is the fifth vehicle to break through the ice in the area this season.
Multiple agencies assisted with the rescue, including Racine Fire, Franklin Fire, Town of Burlington Fire, Kansasville Fire, the Racine County Sheriff's Office, and the Racine Dive Team.
