Wisconsin Dept. of Justice unveils new, improved website

MADISON (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) unveiled on Monday, January 28th a new and improved website. Officials say it'll give online visitors easier access to more DOJ resources.

CLICK HERE to visit the DOJ website

On the homepage, visitors will find easy to locate links for some of the most common requests, such as “Filing a Consumer Complaint,” and a new feature that answers some of the DOJ’s most "Frequently Asked Questions."  Additionally, the “What Can We Help You Find” link on the homepage directs visitors to the appropriate online resource for a number of public safety or criminal justice related matters.

The Office of Crime Victim Services (OCVS) at the DOJ has a new, interactive map to connect anyone in need of victim/witness assistance with local resources.  And, the Division of Law Enforcement Services (DLES) also has created a color-coded map that illustrates which states are recognized under Wisconsin’s concealed carry law, so out-of-state CCW license holders will be able to see whether they’re legal to carry concealed in Wisconsin.

While social networking sites offer valuable ways to connect online, they’re also a potential danger for young people.  As part of its commitment to fighting Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) through Wisconsin’s ICAC Task Force, the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has highlighted more than a dozen social networking sites, some of which parents and caregivers may be unaware exist.
