MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) on Friday, Oct. 9 reported 2,988 new COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the cumulative total to 144,818.
The DHS also reported 16 additional deaths on Friday, raising the total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 1,440.
Among those who have tested positive, 8,199 have required hospitalization (5.7%) and 115,826 have recovered (80%). There are 27,516 active cases (19%).
More than 1.6 million people have now been tested for COVID-19 in Wisconsin, of which more than 1.5 million have tested negative.
