Wisconsin's Most Wanted: Alfonso Saldivar suspected of stealing guns

Investigators are looking for a Milwaukee man they say broke into a home and stole guns. Alfonso Saldivar was charged, but U.S. Marshals say he went on the run.

Milwaukee man on the run

What we know:

In 2009, Saldivar pleaded guilty to federal charges after investigators say he sold drugs and guns to an undercover agent. After serving time, he was out on supervised release. When he got out, he found himself in trouble again.

Investigators say in 2019, Saldivar broke into a New Berlin home on 157th Street. Cameras caught a burglar walking away with weapons. The homeowner told police he recognized Saldivar as the man in the surveillance.

U.S. Marshals on the case

What they're saying:

"It sounded like he was partying or was high and decided to break into the house and steal the guns," the marshal said. "Saw him break into his house on the camera and there were five guns missing," the marshal said.

Saldivar was charged, but fled. The 45-year-old often uses the nickname "Fonso," but U.S. Marshals think he’s using a fake identity to stay hidden.

"I believe he’s still on the south side, West Allis, New Berlin," the marshal said.
