According to the criminal complaint, Ding owned the King Sunshine Spa near 27th and Rawson. The complaint says starting in early 2015, "Franklin police began receiving numerous complaints" regarding the spa. One citizen noticed "there were no posted hours of operation on the door of the business and employees seemed to be present late into the night." The same citizen also noticed that "the only clientele going into the spa appeared to be older males."

Later in January, a woman told police she entered the spa. She said there was "no list of services" posted within the business. The complaint says the "male employee informed her $60 per hour, although no other information was provided as to what services she would receive." The woman left the business.

After receiving the complaints, several undercover police agents went into the spa starting in March and as late as October. The complaint indicates those agents were massaged by employees in ways "in an attempt to arouse." The complaint indicates this happened on multiple occasions.

When questioned by authorities, Ding admitted owning the spa for a little more than a year. She "stated she comes to the 'spa' at least once a week." She also admitted paying rent for the location.

If convicted, Ding faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
