WEST BEND (WITI) -- A woman is facing several charges and two children were taken into protective custody following a drug overdose that occurred in West Bend.
West Bend police were dispatched to the home on N. 8th Avenue just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4th. A female caller advised a man had overdosed.
Upon arrival, police and fire officials administered Narcan to the man, and he regained consciousness.
Two children, ages three and seven were found in a bedroom at the home.
Police say heroin, methadone, marijuana and a large amount of drug paraphernalia, including smoking devices, hypodermic needles and other items associated with using heroin were found in the home.
An investigation revealed the female who initially called police had attempted to destroy evidence at the scene before fleeing.
The children were taken into protective custody. The female was taken to jail on several charges (including first degree recklessly endangering safety, neglecting a child, harboring/aiding a felon, possession of narcotic drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping). The man who overdosed was medically cleared and then placed in jail on charges of neglecting a child, possession of narcotic drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of drug paraphernalia.
