"WOW! Somebody would do this for us?!" New Berlin Food Pantry gets dump truck filled with supplies!
NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- It was a big day Wednesday, November 19th for the New Berlin Food Pantry, thanks to a big delivery!
A 3-ton dump truck arrived at the facility full of donated food, diapers, cleaning products and personal hygiene items.
The huge donation was spearheaded by the owner of the truck, New Berlin-based "Grounds Maintenance Services."
Eleven area businesses collected the items.
Food pantry officials were shocked by the donation.
"WOW! Somebody would do this for us, someone who cares enough," Jeannie Holden with the New Berlin Food Pantry said.
"To fill up such a large vehicle with so much food and to have that much support is pretty incredible experience," Grounds Maintenance Services owner Todd Ruedt said.
The dump truck delivery wasn't the only delivery for the New Berlin Food Pantry Wednesday. The New Berlin Fire and Police Department dropped off 90 turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving. The pantry received 80 additional turkeys from another donor.
We're told an estimated 2,000 pounds of food was donated through the dump truck and the donation of the turkeys.
The New Berlin Food Pantry is located on W. Cleveland in New Berlin.
