YUM! Packers fans stock up on snacks at Metro Market: Meatballs, hot wings, taco dip trays huge hits!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Sunday's big playoff matchup featuring the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field meant big business for Milwaukee-area grocery stores! Metro Market had fans covered -- offering up delicious snacks for folks to enjoy during the game.

You could call the Metro Market store on Van Buren in Milwaukee Green Bay Packers party headquarters ahead of Sunday's game!

"It's very busy for us! A lot of game-day people today," Metro Market Store Director Andy Gifford said.

Metro Market brought in some extra players Sunday -- and staff members were sure to wear their green and gold!

"Everybody likes to get out of the uniform every now and again," Gifford said.

Staff members worked hard to keep the shelves stocked and the crowd of fans satisfied -- because shopping on game day is serious business.

"Today is taco dips. I'll be going through an incredible amount of taco dip trays," Metro Market Executive Chef Cary Dietsch said.

Another big hit among Packers fans Sunday: hot wings and meatballs.

"That's emptying out much faster than the breakfast bar today," Dietsch said.

For those trying to stick to that New Year's resolution, there were some healthy options available.

"I've got lots of great hummus," Dietsch said.

Aaron and Cal Boettcher visited Metro Market to stock up on supplies for father-son day.

"Just some cheese. Going to make some burgers for the game. Cal's a big fan of burgers. It's good luck. Every time we've watched the game together, the two of us, they've won. Go Pack go!" Aaron Boettcher said.

Metro Market officials say they go through 3,000 to 4,000 meatballs, several dozen taco dip trays and too much cheese to count on Packers game days!
