A look back at Brett Favre's career as a Packer: "I'm honored I was with Green Bay"

CANTON, Ohio -- Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend. FOX6 is taking a look back at his career with the green and gold.

"With the guys we got here Don and Mike and Blair have proven themselves to be successful and it's going to be tough they got a lot of years on me and the best thing I can do is sit and learn and when my time comes I'll be ready," said Brett Favre in 1992.

"Obviously 4 and 12 last year, we are trying to rebuild on that so we have to do some new things some of the older guys have to step up and play well and some of the young guys have to do the same, so I can see where you say it's all open we'll start tomorrow," said Favre in 1992.

"Ever since I was a little kid I had to overcome odds, adversity, and I could tell you guys back in the 5th grade games I played in then starting out as receiver in the 5th grade and then going up through high school and college and no one giving me a chance and winning an MVP and everyone saying, 'he'll never do it again' and how did he get it who knows and well I just probably will have to win three to make everyone believe that maybe this guy is for real," Favre said in 1996.

"I look at myself as the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers and what does that call for me to do? It calls for me to win football games whether it be throwing touchdowns, handing off, making good decisions, preparing a certain way, show guys that I prepare a certain way, handling myself a certain way on and off the field and carrying that over into the games," said Favre in 2001.

"Great players respond to pressure in a positive way and so far I have. I don't really like it but I don't shy away from it," said Favre in 1997.

"I try my best to please everyone. When they buy a ticket to watch the Packers I want them to get every nickels worth," Favre said in 2003.

"If I was in the stands I would say that's the way I would want to play a game and I often think about that I don't make plays or do plays for that reason but I often think about how I play the game and it's hard not to be compared to other guys in the league because you hear it all the time, well he does this, he does that and I always say I'd do it making $25,000 a year and I really would and I think that's what people would appreciate," said Favre in 2001.

"If you're not durable and you're not around, you obviously won't be here very long so it's important to me first of all to be able to play with pain and you've got to do that by being in great condition and it all starts by going in the weight room every day," said Favre in 1997.

"The fuel of my fire is how people say you can't do something and the day he says he's great he'll do it. That's when I'm in trouble -- next year, I want them to say you can't win the MVP, you can't go back to the Super Bowl," Favre said in 1996.

"I'm very honored that I got to play in it, and I'm honored that I was with Green Bay to do it because there's no better place to play than Green Bay and there's no better game to play in than the Super Bowl," said Favre in 1997.

"I couldn't even tell you what I threw for in '95, nor do I care but I do know we won the Super Bowl in '96 and if you're unselfish and you believe in what the team is doing and what the coach is saying, and you're willing to do what it takes to help your teammate score or get up off the ground -- to me that what it's all about," said Favre in 2003.
