MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A collarbone fracture suffered by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night, November 4th won't just make a difference on the field. The injury is already having an impact on ticket prices.
Aaron Rodgers is the face of an estimated $1 billion plus organization, the highest paid NFL player and the last person fans expected to see injured in Monday night's game.
"If you lose a big-time quarterback, one of the best in the league, it can`t help but have an effect," Jim Bryce with Ticket King said.
At Ticket King in downtown Milwaukee, brokers work to buy and sell tickets for Sunday's game. As Rodgers sits sidelined with a fractured collarbone, ticket prices are dropping.
"We`ve definitely seen a movement south on price. That just can`t be helped," Bryce said.
Bryce says a ticket that would normally sell for $325 is now going for $275. He says it's not huge, but if things don't improve, he doesn't think that will be the only effect.
"People are going to be coughing up their seats. That`s just the way -- it`s just the way it`s going to be," Bryce said.
Brian Bennett at Stir Marketing says Rodgers' injury will not impact the green and gold brand.
"It`s not going to hurt the Packers too much. The Packers have a pretty solid demand. They`re probably one of the most bulletproof organizations on the planet," Bennett said.
Bennett says even though Rodgers is a star, he's not the only draw.
"It`s not a career-ending injury for Aaron Rodgers. It`s not like people are not going to tune in to a game," Bennett said.
"It`s a big game. They`re still tied for the division. It doesn`t take away from the fact that this is a big game," Bryce said.
